Appointments
We would like you to understand the relationship between our appointment system, your appointments and your treatment progress. Your orthodontic appliances function most efficiently and predictably when they are monitored and adjusted on a regular basis. We understand that most people have other important obligations during the day, usually work or school. We see the majority of our patients once every 4 to 6 weeks, although in some cases the visits can be more or less frequent. Some of these appointments may conflict with work or school schedules. We know your time is valuable and we want to serve you in a prompt and efficient manner so we have designed our scheduling system to maximize the availability of regular appointments while minimizing the problems caused by missing school or work.
Scheduling
We see most of our patients once every five to six weeks and fortunately you will find most orthodontic visits and adjustments are completed in a relatively short appointment time. However, at a few key points in your treatment more significant adjustments are required which necessitate longer appointments. To minimize the amount of missed school, our longer appointments are scheduled during school hours and our shorter appointments are scheduled either before or after school to accommodate as many families as possible. As you might imagine, the before and after school appointments are in demand and this leads to the office being busier in the early mornings and afternoons and quieter during the day. If you should ever wish to come to the office during a quieter time please ask to schedule your appointments during school hours.
Once in a while, unforeseen circumstances arise that may cause you to change or overlook an appointment. To avoid your treatment taking longer than necessary, forgotten appointments should be rescheduled as close to the original date as possible. As our patients schedule their next appointment at the end of each visit, popular times, such as the before and after school appointments, fill up in advance. Should you need to reschedule a forgotten before or after school appointment it may be necessary for you to be seen during school hours.
Emergencies
If you have an orthodontic emergency after hours that requires immediate attention please call our office and follow the instructions to notify the doctor on call. If you are contacting our office after hours about something other than an orthodontic emergency, please leave a message and our staff will return your call the next day we are in the office.
Insurance
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.
